Volume 1: The days of the stag

There is unrest in the Fertile Lands. Mysterious events startle the Supreme Astronomers of the Brotherhood of the Free Air. In ancient scriptures you read the legends of Misaianes, the son of the deadly, who one day will come to the "New World" to subjugate the free peoples. In the "Old World", where the Sideresians live, Misaianes is already gathering powerful troops. The Council of Supreme Astronomers calls on the seven tribes of the Fertile Lands to send representatives to Beleram, the seat of the Brotherhood. In the star city they forge an alliance against Misaianes: the stag's union.

Volume 2: The Days of Shadow

Five years after the Deer League fended off the threat from the Old World, the Sideresians, under the leadership of Misaianes, anchor again on the shores of the New World. They are supported by the scheming Molitzmos from the tribe of the sun lords and the shadow woman, the mother of Misaianes. In a seemingly hopeless battle, the wizards and warriors of the seven tribes find unexpected help. A little girl's innocence can thwart the Shadow Woman's plans.

Volume 3: The Days of Fire

The Days of Fire is the third and final volume in the Grenzländer saga . Misaianes tries one last time to rule the New World, but while he is once again sending a huge army across the sea to the Fertile Lands, resistance is now also rising in the Old World. Two bearers of hope - Vara and Aro - are born; not through violence, but through the power of the four virtues (memory, the honor of bearing a name, knowledge and poetry) they succeed in re-awakening the soul of the battered continent and in germinating the seeds of resistance.

Bodoc on The Frontier Saga

In interviews, Bodoc describes the theme of the Grenzländersaga as a warlike, philosophical, social and economic conflict between two worldviews: one stands for “diversity, freedom and respect for nature”, the other for “uniformity, slavery and exploitation”. Bodoc draws a clear line on JRR Tolkien's fantasy novel The Lord of the Rings . This is "a European epic, Eurocentric and monarchist". Tolkien wrote "from the point of view of the mighty", Bodoc "from the point of view of the subjugated".

Bodoc also incorporates the elements of magical realism typical of Latin American literature into her saga . The fantastic appears in her book as something omnipresent, with which the ratio appears in a softer light. It does not become a means to an end in the world of the border countries, it is immanent in everything that moves in this magical world.
