The comedians
Die Komödianten is a private theater in Kiel . It was founded in 1984 by actor Markus Dentler .
history
After the performances initially took place in the former ELAC Electroacustic canteen , after a year the theater moved to a former locksmith's shop in Kiel's Wilhelminenstrasse, which can seat 99 spectators. Since 1993, Die Komödianten have also performed The Little Prince every summer on an open-air stage in the courtyard of Kiel City Hall, based on the story by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry .
Die Komödianten have made guest appearances in Denmark , Norway , Sweden , Moscow , Kaliningrad and Brest as well as in New York in the United Nations building .
Awards
At the Edinburgh Festival Fringe , The Comedians were awarded four stars for the street theater version of Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot . The theater was awarded by the Federal President for the cultural exchange with the German National Theater Kaliningrad .
