The Rockys are a cover band founded in 1996 . They occur mainly in Dresden , but also in all of Central Germany .

All band members also play in other music groups, Bert Rock and Michael Rock also belong to Dekadance . And with the exception of Tom Rock, who also plays bass with the Free Little Pigs , the rest of the Rockys match the line-up at Olaf Schubert concerts. Fred Rock has been playing the drums since 2013. Michael Rock continues to perform at readings and plays.

Repertoire and performances

The group mainly covers pop and rock from the 1970s and 1980s. The most original English text is then often translated almost literally into German, leading to titles such as movie star (movie star) , children of social upheaval (Children of the Revolution) or pull into battle (for your right to party) (Fight for Your Right to Party ) leads.

They regularly play on May 1st at the Dresden Saloppe , the Elbhangfest , the Dresden City Festival and the Inselfest, a district festival in the Dresden-Laubegast district . Since 2007 the Rockys have also performed their own theater creations such as the play Eimer für Alle - The Musketeers and their program The Rockys read German hit texts .
