Donald Dark is the name of a fun metal / fun punk band from Bonn .
history
Donald Dark was founded in 1994 by singer, guitarist , songwriter and producer "Mitzky DieLust", later joined by "Kasten Pils" on drums and vocals and "Sven Glückspilz" as bassist and sound engineer.
The band released their albums from 1996 to 1999. The last record You didn't appreciate Horst Frank at all! was issued to fans in a strictly limited edition of 50 pieces.
In 1999 the band split up in favor of the Mitzky project, which was supervised by physician manager Axel Schulz, but returned to the stage a year later. After a last tour with JBO , the band finally ended their work in mid-2001. Musician “Mitzky DieLust” then published Ich need Geld - A Tribute To Me Selber (2002), deceleration measures ( 2008) and Grübelmonster (2009).

In their both German and English-language songs, Donald Dark dealt with a variety of topics (e.g. love, envy, drugs , athlete's foot and super-intelligent shades of blue, an allusion to The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy ) in a humorous way.

- The title of the CD Leise? is a reference to the album Laut! the friendly band JBO
- Comedian Bastian Pastewka , who had been friends with Mitzky since school days, played the piano on two songs ( Come with me and Devil in Disguise ) .
- The album DARK was released as the first CD worldwide in a sleeve specially designed for left-handers and marked as such.
- In order to prevent legal disputes with the Disney Company based on the name right, such as that led to the name change of the Danish rock band DAD , Donald Dark secured a written promise to use the name from three US citizens , all of whom actually bear the name Donald Dark .
- After the problems with the record company, the drummer "Kasten Pils" changed his stage name and from then on only called himself "Cymbal".
- Donald Dark are friends with the fun metal band JBO . They completed concerts together, and Donald Dark declined her album Donald Dark are DDO - Leise ?! both from the name of a JBO album ( loud! ) and from the selection of the titles published on it, which on the one hand are cover versions of JBO pieces and on the other hand also contain swipes at the band - for example with the song Das aufreregende Demokratie in Erlangen , which portrays the same as extremely boring.
