With her daughter at her side, she then returns to her home country and accepts a job in a large variety company. There is a hearing that ends with the death penalty. Before Carmencita Navarro can be shot, she saves a last minute pardon.

Production notes

The dancer Navarro , one of the most unknown Nielsen productions, passed film censorship on November 18, 1922, was banned from young people and was premiered on April 2, 1923. From January 4, 1924, the strip could also be seen in Austria. The film had six acts and was about 2,400 meters long.

criticism

Vienna's Neue Freie Presse wrote: “This film embarrasses the critic. The film shows serious shortcomings in dramaturgical terms. You get to see a whole host of inorganic, weakly or not at all motivated incidents. (…) This film is a heavy test of endurance for the art and the attraction of this perhaps greatest of all film actresses. And Asta Nielsen is actually able to make you forget the frequently accumulated nonsense of this film. This woman's game cannot be admired enough. In honor of her there is only Alexander Granach, ... who here made a disapproved and thus furious admirer of the dancer in a splendidly repulsive manner. Very good, although unfortunately not particularly prominent, Adele Sandrock in the small role of mother. "

In Paimann's film lists you can read: “The subject is appealing, but in places could have used more speed. The presentation is very good, the layout and photos are satisfactory. "
