One day the handsome Ferdinand reads in the newspaper about a competition that was advertised. The aim is to find the person who can best perform the Argentine fashion dance tango. His cheeky girlfriend Mie would be ideal as a partner, but when practicing Ferdinand is so disappointed with what he thinks is her lack of talent that it leads to a serious rift. Any shop girl can dance better than she, he throws at her head. One day Ferdinand saw a young girl on the street in a backyard dancing with great grace and grace to the sounds of an organ organ and was delighted. The little girl's name is Hanni, and she should definitely become his tango partner! After Ferdinand has completely re-dressed the girl, he organizes a tango teacher named Schüftan, who is supposed to give Hanni the finishing touches.

Mie, still mad at her Ferdinand, has taken her second friend Lulu and ordered him to take part in this tango dance competition with her too. He, too, a handsome lieutenant who knows how to move on parade marches much better, should learn to dance the tango at Schüftan. But Lulu has no talent, and so Mie succeeds in persuading the dance teacher to become her dance partner in the competition herself. On the day of the finals, Hanni had a mishap: she left the ticket in a car and was initially not allowed into the dance hall. In the clothes of a delivery boy she still smuggles in and after swapping clothes she can finally start dancing. Mie and Schüftan dance divinely, but Hanni recognizes her dance teacher in him, and as professionals they are not allowed to take part in such competitions. Hanni teases the cheat at the jury and ends up becoming the Tango Queen!

criticism

“One of the funniest and most exuberant film actresses, Hanny [sic!] Weisse… was induced by Vitascope to let her delightful legs hop over the screen in a funny farce. (...) The piece offers great entertainment. The tango queen is really like a king. "
