The three wells (also: Dreibrunnenquelle ) are a well system in Darmstadt .
History and description
In 1568 the source of the Meiereibach (a tributary of the Darmbach ) was taken next to the Hofmeierei . The spring once fed the three-wells pipe . The Dreibrunnenleitung was the most important water pipe in the old Darmstadt. The Darmstadt sculptor Gotthelf Schlotter designed the new bronze panels on the fountain .
Monument protection
The fountain is a cultural monument for architectural and city history reasons .
