Diego López , full name Diego Gastón López Barrios , (born February 23, 1994 in Trinidad ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

Midfielder López won the Uruguayan Championship in the Sexta División with the U-15 of Club Atlético Peñarol in 2009 and was also a member of the Aurinegros youth team in 2010. In 2013 he was in the ranks of the team playing in the Cuarta División of the first division team River Plate . In July 2014, his move to the Maltese club FC Msida Saint Joseph was in the room. At the end of January 2015, he moved from the Italian club Selargius to the Montevideo- based Uruguayan first division club Sud América . There he completed two games in the Primera División in the 2015 Clausura . In the 2015/16 season, two more first division appearances followed (no goal). In the 2016 season he was used in a first division game (no goal).

National team

López has already played for the U-15 and U-17 national teams of Uruguay. With the U-15 he finished fourth as a member of the squad there at the U-15 South American Championships 2009 in Bolivia . At the U-17 South American Championship in Ecuador in 2011 , he is said to have been part of the Uruguayan squad . However, this is not confirmed in other sources.

With the U-17 he also took part in a tour through Argentina, Peru and Ecuador from December 6 to 21, 2010.
