The Dieksee is a lake in Holstein Switzerland . It is 386 hectares , has a maximum length of about 3.4 km and a maximum width of 1.6 km.
The lake is up to 38 m deep and about 22 m above sea level. NN , the Schwentine flows through it from east to west . About this waterway it is with the other lakes in the Holstein Lake District ( little- and Great Lake Eutin , the Kellersee , the Großen- and the little ones Ploen Lake and the Ukleisee connected).
Like all of Holstein Switzerland, the Dieksee was formed during the last Ice Age. Dead ice preserved the formed depression, and after it melted the lake formed.
The use of the lake with boats is permitted, excursion boats (5-lake trip) connect the larger towns of the Holstein lake district, in the towns of Malente -Gremsmühlen, Niederkleveez and Timmdorf there are moorings on the Dieksee. The lake can be circled around 14 kilometers on foot or by bike. From the Holzbergturm you have a good overview of the Dieksee, the Langenwarder and Gremswarder islands in the lake and the other lakes in the region.
