Dieter Angerer

Dieter Angerer (born April 6, 1952 in Leoben in Styria ) is an Austrian horn player, composer and arranger.

After completing compulsory school, Dieter Angerer studied horn with Friedrich Gabler as his main subject at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna . In 1976, Angerer graduated with distinction, for which he was awarded the State Appreciation Prize from the Federal Ministry of Art and Science through Hertha Firnberg . In 1974 Angerer joined the stage orchestra of the Vienna State Opera as a horn player. He is also a member of the Stadtmusik Wien and the Wiener Waldhornverein . He also worked as a music teacher in the SOS Children's Village and the Gaaden-Wienerwald music school. As a former conductor of wind music in Rohrau, Markgraf-Neusiedel and St. Georg Kagran, he was the musical director of the Wiener Waldhornverein from 2009 to 2011. In 2012 he was elected President of the Wiener Waldhornverein.

Works

His works include pieces for Viennese horns, alpine and natural horns. Pieces for flute and piano; Flute, violin and piano; Flute and guitar; as well as for bassoon ensemble complete his work. He created arrangements for the wind quartet of the Stadtmusik Wien and orchestral arrangements.
