Dieter Blumenberg

Dieter Blumenberg (born June 6, 1925 in Stepenitz ; † July 25, 2019 ) was a German politician and former member of the state parliament ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school , he completed an apprenticeship as a typesetter and worked as a typesetter from 1948 to 1960 after his military service and return from captivity . From 1960 to 1978 Blumenberg was district secretary of the IG Druck und Papier and from 1979 to 1987 DGB district chairman in Cologne.

He had been a member of the SPD since 1959. He was also a member of the IG Druck und Papier and the Arbeiterwohlfahrt .

From May 29, 1980 to May 30, 1990, Blumenberg was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was directly elected in constituency 015 Cologne III.
