Dieter Ehmann

Dieter Ehmann (born March 12, 1931 in Stuttgart ; † July 10, 2013 ) was a German manager. Between 1973 and 1994 he was CEO of Sparkassen-Versicherung Stuttgart . In addition, he temporarily managed the fate of the Association of Public Insurers .

Professional background

Ehmann began his professional career as an insurance salesman at Helvetia in his hometown, before he started at the Central European Insurance Corporation on April 1, 1951 . At the same time he studied at the Cologne German Insurance Academy . In 1956 he was granted power of attorney at the ZVA and two years later he was granted power of attorney . In 1963 he was promoted to a deputy board member and two years later to a full board member of ZVA and Sparkassen-Versicherung. With effect from July 1, 1973, he was appointed CEO of both companies and in 1975 General Manager. On January 1, 1994, he took over the chairmanship of the newly founded Sparkassen-Versicherung Holding, which he held until he retired. Between 2001 and 2003 he sat on the advisory board of the insurance company, after the merger of the savings bank insurers from Baden-Württemberg as well as Hesse and Thuringia on January 1, 2004 to form today's SV SparkassenVersicherung Holding AG, he resigned from the committee.

From 1987 to 1990 Dieter Ehmann was chairman of the association of public life and liability insurers and spokesman for the associations of public insurers.

On January 24, 1980 Ehmann was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon. In 1991 he received the Great Baden-Württemberg Sparkasse Medal in recognition of his services to date for Sparkassen-Versicherung.
