Dieter Flämig

Dieter Flämig (born January 9, 1950 in Berlin ) is a German environmental economist, university lecturer , Berlin State Secretary in retirement and project developer in the infrastructure sector .

Scientific career

Flämig passed his Abitur in 1969 at the Werner-von-Siemens-Gymnasium in Berlin and graduated in 1976 with a degree in industrial engineering specializing in mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Berlin , where he also obtained a Dr. rer. oec. PhD. He was appointed Honorary Professor of the Sofia State University in 2010 . The subject is "Modern Infrastructures and Sustainability". In 2012 he was appointed Executive Vice President of the academic platform OASIS (Academic Organization for Advancement of Strategic and International Studies).

Career in the executive branch

With the change of government in the Berlin election in 1981, Dieter Flämig joined the Berlin Senate Department for Economics and Transport as press spokesman, where he was appointed head of the policy department in 1983. In 1985 he took over the "Labor" department as a department head in the Senate Administration for Economics and Labor. 1986–1989 he was also a member of the board of directors of the Federal Employment Agency . In 1990 he became honorary Secretary General of the Council of Experts at the Council of Ministers of the GDR , chaired by Elmar Pieroth . From 1991 to 1992 he served in the Diepgen III Senate as First Speaker of the Senate and Head of the Press and Information Office for reunified Berlin. He has been a member of the CDU since 1969.

Career in business

Flämig began his professional career in 1977, first in the Berlin manufacturing industry and from 1978 to 1981 in accompanying ergonomic research (humanization of the world of work). Since 1993 Flämig has been a managing partner of STRATEGY GmbH, which promotes infrastructure projects. In 1994, together with Lothar de Maizière, he founded the INFRANEU-Hauptverband e. V. (expansion of infrastructures and sustainability), of which he is the managing director and deputy chairman until today. In 2008 he founded INFRAWIND EURASIA eV with Lothar de Maizière and Alexander Yu Li and has been its President ever since. This platform is an official partner of the Chinese Renewable Energy Society CRES. At the moment he is a member of the Expert Panel of the Bucharest Waterworks and the Advisory Board of the Berliner Stadtwerke . In 2017 the advisory board elected him its deputy chairman.

Current awards

In 2015, the “Green Health City” project draft developed under Flämig's direction by INFRAWIND EURASIA was awarded a World Green Design Product Award by the WGDO. In 2016, Flämig received the Green Design International Contribution Award in Brussels for his book "Thinking ahead: from the energy transition to a sustainability society".
