Dieter Fritsch

Dieter Fritsch (born May 15, 1950 in Gemünden (Westerwald) ) is a German geodesist and former professor of photogrammetry and surveying at the University of Stuttgart .

Life

Fritsch first completed an apprenticeship as a surveying technician at the Westerburg surveying and land registry office . In 1969 he obtained his technical college entrance qualification and began studying surveying at the Rhineland-Palatinate University of Applied Sciences and the University of Bonn , which he graduated with honors in 1977. He then worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Theoretical Geodesy at the University of Bonn. 1982 doctorate he, in 1990 he was habilitated and received the license to teach the subject Geographic Information Systems at the Technical University of Munich .

From June 1992 to March 2016, Fritsch was a professor at the University of Stuttgart. From 1992 to 1994 he was chairman of the surveying committee, and from 1994 to 1996 dean of the faculty of civil engineering and surveying. Since 1995 he has headed the coordination office for scientific training. From 1998 to 2000 he was Vice-Rector for Teaching at the University of Stuttgart, and from 2000 to 2006, finally, Rector . From 2002 to 2004 he was also Chairman of the Baden-Württemberg State Rectors ' Conference .
