Dieter Haarseim (born August 17, 1941 ) is a former German football goalkeeper who played between 1968 and 1971 for BSG Chemie Leipzig in the GDR Oberliga , the top division of GDR football .

Athletic career

Dieter Haarseim's football career in the higher-class leagues lasted only seven years. During this time he only managed to become goalie number one in the 1967/68 season at the company sports community (BSG) Chemie Zeitz . Haarseim first became active in GDR-wide football when he played 14 point games for Chemie Zeitz in the second-rate GDR league in 1965/66 . He stayed behind the goalkeeper Edgar Ernst , who had made 16 appearances in the 30 point games. In the following season Haarseim was only used in nine league games. It was not until the 1967/68 season that he was promoted to goalkeeper and completed all 30 point games. As a result, Oberligist Chemie Leipzig became aware of Haarseim and brought him into their own ranks for the 1968/69 season. But he was used almost exclusively in the 2nd team, which played in the third-rate district league. Only on the 25th matchday of the league represented Haarseim goalkeeper Volkhard Jany . The same conditions were repeated in 1969/70, Haarseim played in the 2nd team, and only on matchday 21 of the league did he replace Jany in the 2nd half. With Chemie II, Haarseim rose to the GDR league at the end of the season. There he fought with Günther Teichmann for the regular place in goal in 1970/71, but had less to do with a point game. In contrast, he was able to improve his league record when he was able to guard the goal for the injured Jany in six league games. The 1st team was relegated, but Haarseim was not taken into account in the GDR league season and had to play in the 2nd team, which was downgraded to the district league. After the 1972/73 season, in which Haarseim had only played in the district league team, he ended his career at Chemie Leipzig and did not return to higher-class football. Within six seasons he had made eight league appearances and was in goal 64 times in the GDR league. Later he was a trainer at the lower class BSG Dimo Böhlitz-Ehrenberg .
