Dieter Kallfaß

Dieter Kallfaß (born September 16, 1943 ) is a former German football player. In 1967 he played for the BSG Wismut Gera in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football .

Athletic career

When the previous goalkeeper Hans Zeppmeisel moved to BSG Lok Stendal in the second-rate company sports association (BSG) Turbine Magdeburg in the winter of 1964 , his place was taken over by the 21-year-old Dieter Kallfaß. Of the 15 GDR league games in the second half of the 1964/65 season, Kallfaß played eleven games. In May 1965 he was drafted into the National People's Army for 18 months . During this time he played for the army sports association ASG Vorwärts Rostock-Gehlsdorf in the GDR league. He became a regular goalkeeper there and completed 34 games of the 35 league games played by September 1966. In connection with a planned move to the GDR league club 1. FC Magdeburg , the GDR soccer association imposed its six-month ban on Kallfaß.

Then Kallfaß joined the upper league promoted BSG Wismut Gera, where he played in the matches Wismut Gera - Hallescher FC (0: 2) and Wismut Gera - 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig ( 2: 1) was used. At this time, the Geraer were already known as a relegated league.

Until 1969, Kallfaß was not represented in higher-class football. Then he played at BSG Aufbau Schwedt in the third-class district league Frankfurt (Oder) . In 1973, Kallfaß became district champion with the BSG construction and rose with her to the GDR league. In the 1973/74 season he was only number two behind the goalkeeper Jürgen Ludwig in the goal of BSG Aufbau and only made four appearances. Also in 1974/75 Kallfaß was only in ten GDR league games in goal and could not overtake Ludwig, who came on thirteen missions. At the end of the season, BSG Aufbau Schwedt was relegated from the GDR league and the almost 32-year-old Dieter Kallfaß did not return to higher-class football. At BSG Aufbau he remained a team leader for many years.
