research
Dieter Kleiber's research focuses on social science research on AIDS and addiction , research on stress , burnout and coping , health services research and the health of children and adolescents. Since the beginning of public awareness of HIV and AIDS in Germany in 1987 and the public reaction to it, Dieter Kleiber has repeatedly been commissioned to carry out epidemiological studies in groups with a high risk of infection in order to be able to effectively address preventive measures. On the subject of burnout, he created a first bibliography in cooperation with Dirk Enzmann and translated and validated an instrument for recording burnout ( Maslach Burnout Inventory ) as part of various research projects . His research on cannabis consumption in cooperation with Renate Soellner also became popular. As a result, he was repeatedly invited as an expert on this subject. In collaboration with Karl-Artur Kovar, he created an expertise on the pharmacological and psychosocial consequences of cannabis use, which is often quoted. In recent years, the topic of health in children and adolescents has been added as a research interest.
