Dieter Müller-Wichards
Dieter Müller-Wichards (* 1946 in Büdelsdorf ) was a professor at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW) and is the author of several books.
Career
Müller-Wichards was born in 1946 in Büdelsdorf, Schleswig-Holstein . From 1967 to 1972 he studied mathematics, physics and computer science at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel, where he also received his doctorate in applied mathematics five years later . From 1977 to 1989 he was a research associate at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Göttingen, where, among other things, he was the computer center manager. During this time he spent 1986 as a visiting scholar at the IBM TJ Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, New York City . In 1989 he left DLR to work as a research assistant at the IBM Institute for Supercomputing and Applied Mathematics at the Heidelberg Scientific Center , and from 1990 as head of the Engineering Applications department. Since 1992 he has been teaching at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, formerly Hamburg University of Applied Sciences , in the information and electrical engineering department. In 2011 he reached retirement age and ended his professorship at the HAW Hamburg in the summer after 19 years.
