Dieter Michael Feineis

Dieter Michael Feineis (born August 10, 1945 in Würzburg ) is a German church historian .

Life

The son of Wilhelm and Wilma Feineis studied philosophy and theology at the University of Würzburg from 1964 to 1970 . After his ordination he was chaplain in Amorbach and Bad Brückenau from 1970 to 1976 . In 1977 he received his doctorate and was then pastor of today's parish community St. Michael in Klingenberg am Main - Röllfeld until 2010 . In 1986 he completed his habilitation in Würzburg. In 1990 he became a private lecturer and received the license to teach at the University of Würzburg in the field of Franconian church history . In January 1997 he became associate professor for Franconian church history at the Catholic-Theological Faculty in Würzburg. He has been the second chairman of the Würzburg Diocesan History Association since 1999. He was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon in 2007. Benedict XVI. appointed him chaplain to His Holiness in 2010 .

His research areas are the development and presentation of the financial history of the Würzburg monastery, its monasteries and monasteries, the history of the former Mainz upper monastery, in particular the office of Klingenberg and the history of the Franconian aristocratic families.
