Dieter Moritz (born November 21, 1938 ) is a former German soccer player . From 1965 to 1969, the defensive player played 39 games for his club VfL Bochum in the then second -rate regional football league West .

Career

Dieter Moritz rose in the 1964/65 round with VfL Bochum from the Association League Westphalia to the Regionalliga West . Under coach Hubert Schieth , Moritz, who came from the amateur team to the league eleven , played twelve games at the side of teammates Horst Christopeit (goalkeeper), Karl-Heinz Böttcher , Gustav Eversberg , Heinz Hermani , Werner Jablonski , Dieter Versen and Gerd Wiesemes in the promotion year.

His greatest sporting success was reaching the DFB Cup final in 1968 . Under coach Hermann Eppenhoff he came on as a substitute for Hans-Jürgen Jansen in the 2-0 success in the quarter-finals against Borussia Mönchengladbach and in the final on June 9 against 1. FC Köln . His last regional league game dates from May 4, 1969, when the team from Castroper Strasse won their home game against Schwarz-Weiß Essen with 3-0 goals and finished third in the Regionalliga West.
