Dieter Segert

Dieter Segert (born 1952 ) is a political scientist at the University of Vienna . a. deals with the transformation of political systems in East Central Europe, European state socialism and party development in Eastern Europe.

biography

Segert studied philosophy at the Humboldt University in Berlin and at the Lomonossow University in Moscow .

In 1978 he became a research assistant and later a professor of philosophy at the Humboldt University, and in 1989 he was appointed professor. In 1992 he taught at Bath University . From 1993 to 1998 Segert held a professorship for comparative political science at the Humboldt University, from 1998 to 2001 a visiting professor at the Charles University in Prague . In 2001 he taught at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder) . From 2002 to 2005 Segert was a research associate at the Federal Agency for Civic Education in Bonn .

In 2005 Segert took over a professorship at the Institute for Political Science at the University of Vienna.
