Dieter Zorc (born October 17, 1939 in Lünen , † October 16, 2007 in Cartagena , Spain ) was a German football player .

Career

Dieter Zorc completed 32 international matches for the DFB amateur national team from 1966 to 1971, in which he scored three goals. The first two appointments in June 1966 he denied as a player in TuS Eving-Lindenhorst , the 30 other missions he denied as a player in Lüner SV . He made his debut as a center runner on June 19, 1966 in a 1-1 draw against Italy; Norbert Nigbur and Horst Köppel also made their debut in this game, although they became professionals two weeks later. Zorc was in 1967 in the two games against Great Britain in which the German amateur team missed the Olympic qualification for 1968. Zorc played his last amateur international game on April 28, 1971 in a 0-0 draw against Spain. When it was foreseeable that he would not be considered for the 1972 Olympic team, Zorc moved to VfL Bochum in the Bundesliga .

The central defender played 21 Bundesliga games for VfL Bochum in the 1971/72 season, 14 of them over 90 minutes. VfL finished this season in 9th place. Zorc completed his last Bundesliga game on June 28, 1972 in a 4-2 win over Hertha BSC , when he was substituted on in the 61st minute when the score was 2-1. In the 1972/73 season Zorc only played five more times in the DFB League Cup , on his last appearance against Hessen Kassel on August 23, 1972, he scored his only competitive goal for the Castroper Strasse team, before returning to Lüner SV in November 1972 changed.

Dieter Zorc is the father of the former BVB player and current manager Michael Zorc . He died after a serious illness in his long-term holiday destination Cartagena in Spain.
