Dietger Mader

Dietger Mader (born November 30, 1939 in Bregenz ) is a former Austrian politician ( FPÖ ). From 1974 to 1994 he was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament .

education and profession

Mader attended the elementary school in Bregenz City between 1945 and 1949 and then switched to the Bregenz secondary school from 1949 to 1953. After graduating from the Bregenz Commercial School between 1953 and 1954 and the Bregenz Commercial Academy from 1954 to 1958 , he passed the Matura in 1958 and began studying at the University of World Trade in Vienna in 1958 . He completed his undergraduate studies in 1963 with the academic degree of business administration graduate and received his doctorate in 1966 as a doctor of social and economic sciences (Dr. rer. Soc. Oec.). From 1966 to 1971 he worked as a claims clerk at Vorarlberger Landesversicherung in Bregenz and then worked as a professional politician until 2003. In 2004 he retired.

Politics and functions

Mader was a member of the Ring of Liberal Youth and joined the FPÖ in March 1970 and was a member of the city council of Bregenz from May 1970 to May 1980 and a member of the city council from 1970 to 1979. Then he was a substitute member of the city council from 1980 to 1990 and a member of the city council and vice mayor from 1990 to 1995. Ultimately, he was again a substitute member of the city council from 2000 to 2003. Within the party, he was deputy parliamentary group leader of the FPÖ Bregenz from 1975 to 1980 and parliamentary group chairman from 1990 to 1995. Furthermore, he worked from 1976 to 1992 as district party chairman of the FPÖ Bregenz and was from 1972 to 2002 a member of the state party leadership of the FPÖ Vorarlberg. In addition, from 1972 to 1996 he was a member of the state party executive committee of the FPÖ Vorarlberg, between 1972 and 1976 and from 1984 and 1992 a member of the state party presidium of the FPÖ Vorarlberg and during this time also deputy state party chairman of the FPÖ Vorarlberg. As a member of the Bregenz constituency from November 4, 1974 to October 3, 1994, he was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament and from 1983 to 1991 club chairman of the FPÖ state parliament club.

Mader was a member of the Presidium of the Vorarlberg Civil Protection Association, was involved as chairman of the Vorarlberg Wrestling Association from 1974 to 1977 and was also vice-president of the Austrian Wrestling Association.

Private

Mader was born as the son of the painter Ernst Mader and the milliner Elisabeth Mader, née Mauer. His father was killed on the Western Front in December 1944 during World War II. Mader married in July 1971 and divorced in 1990. He had a son in 1972 and a daughter in 1974.
