Dietmar Cordan

Dietmar Cordan (born January 8, 1941 in Trier as Dietmar Stommel ; also Dietmar Stommel-Cordan ) is a German opera singer ( tenor ).

biography

Cordan grew up in Trier and learned the trade of druggist . At the age of 25 he studied at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik Berlin with Harry Gottschalk and was nominated for a scholarship from the German people . From 1969 to 1971 he was an apprentice at the Cologne Opera , after which he had an engagement at the Städtebundtheater Hof . From 1972 to 1974 he sang at the Landestheater Salzburg , from 1974 to 1975 at the Städtische Bühnen Augsburg , then until 1979 at the Städtische Bühnen Essen and has been a freelance singer since 1980. Since then he has appeared on numerous established stages in Germany and in other European countries and has worked with well-known conductors and directors.

Dietmar Cordan has a son and lives with his wife in Salzburg and Croatia .
