Dietmar Emich (born June 14, 1967 in Salzburg ) is a former Austrian football player and now coach .

Career

As a player

Emich played for SV Austria Salzburg until 1990 , where he was not part of the professional squad. For the 1990/91 season he joined the regional division ASVÖ FC Puch . He made his debut in the regional league in August 1990 against SC Austria Lustenau .

For the 1992/93 season he returned to Austria Salzburg. He played his first game in the 1st division in August 1992 when he was substituted on for Herfried Sabitzer on the fourth day of that season against the Wiener Sport-Club in the 75th minute . He scored his first goal in the top division in September 1992 in a 1-0 win against FC Stahl Linz . After seven league appearances for Austria Salzburg, he moved to FC Stahl Linz in January 1993, with whom he played in the "middle playoff" and reached sixth place, which meant relegation to the 2nd division .

In the summer of 1993 Emich returned to the now second-class ASVÖ FC Puch. In 1995 he was relegated to the regional league with Puch. He then joined the second division club SV Braunau for the 1995/96 season . For the Upper Austrians he played 19 games in the second highest division and scored four goals.

For the 1996/97 season he returned to the regional league team Puch. For the club he came to 21 regional league appearances that season. In the summer of 1997 Emich joined the second division promoted SK Eintracht Wels . With the Welsern he rose in 1998 after a season in the second highest division in the regional league. He then moved again to ASVÖ FC Puch.

In January 2000 Emich moved to the fourth-class PSV SW Salzburg . With the club he rose in 2001 to the regional league. In the first half of the 2003/04 season Emich played briefly for ASK Salzburg before returning to PSV SW Salzburg. In the 2004/05 season he played for SV Straßwalchen . In the summer of 2005 he moved to Puch for the fifth time, where he ended his career in 2006.

As a trainer

After the end of his career, Emich initially worked as a talent seeker for FC Red Bull Salzburg between November 2006 and April 2008 . In December 2008 he became the coach of the fifth class SV Austria Salzburg . With Austria Salzburg in 2009 he rose to the fourth-class regional league . After only one season in the fourth-highest division, they also rose to the third- tier regional league in 2010 . In September 2011 Emich resigned as coach of Austria Salzburg.

In June 2012 he became coach of the fourth-class ASVÖ FC Puch , for which he had played five times. After a year as coach of Puch, he left the club after the 2012/13 season.

For the 2016/17 season Emich was coach of Austria Salzburg for a second time. In April 2017, the Salzburg team separated from him; At that time Austria Salzburg was in last place in the Regional League West.
