Dietmar Geissler

Dietmar Geissler (born May 11, 1950 in Innsbruck ) is an Austrian doctor and cancer specialist. He is a trained internist with additional subjects: hematology , oncology , nephrology , rheumatology , gastroenterology and intensive care medicine .

Life

After studying human medicine, Dietmar Geissler began a scientific training at the Institute of Pharmacology . In 1976 he trained as a specialist in internal medicine under Herbert Braunsteiner . From 1987 Geissler received a license to teach internal medicine at the Medical University of Innsbruck . In June 1991 Geissler was appointed director of the 1st Medical Department at Klagenfurt Clinic . Under the organization of Dietmar Geissler, a stem cell transplant, an HIV outpatient clinic and a rheumatism clinic were set up. In 2005, Geissler established a dialysis station in the spa center in Althofen and in 2011 he set up oncological rehabilitation in Althofen.

Dietmar Geissler's scientific focus is on hematology, immunology and nephrology. In 1985 there was a stay in a stem cell laboratory in Indianapolis under the direction of Prof. Broxmeyer. Publications: approx. 60 (total impact factor approx. 270) original papers and 90 scientific abstracts .
