Dietmar Hexel
Dietmar Hexel (born November 21, 1949 in Soltau ) is an organizational developer and German trade unionist. From 2002 to May 2014 he was a member of the DGB executive board and from 2007 to 2011 a member of the SPD party board.
From 2002 to 2015 he was a member of the Government Commission on the German Corporate Governance Code (DCGK).
Life and work
After training as a chemical laboratory assistant at Hoechst AG in Frankfurt am Main, Dietmar Hexel joined the SPD and was active in youth and educational work at the DGB and the IG Chemie-Papier-Keramik in Hesse. a. as chairman of the Frankfurter Jugendring. In 1968 he joined the SPD. While working, he studied social work at the FH Frankfurt / M. In 1980 he moved to the main board of IG Chemie - now IG BCE - and headed the works council department under Werner Vitt . In 1986 Franz Steinkühler brought him to Frankfurt am Main for a modernization project for IG Metall . Under Steinkühler, Klaus Zwickel and Jürgen Peters , he was head of organization of IG Metall from 1991. In 2002 he became a member of the executive board of the DGB in Berlin.
On the DGB federal executive board, he was responsible for structural, industrial and service policy with energy, environmental and climate policy, for co-determination , corporate governance and CSR, trade union organizational policy and development, personnel, internal auditing and DGB- Rechtsschutz GmbH. In 2005, with the trend reversal project , he started measures to strengthen the DGB unions.
Among other things, he was a member of the administrative board of the Federal Employment Agency, Nuremberg, an expert member of the Bundestag study commission "Growth, Prosperity, Quality of Life" , Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the European Academy of Work (EAdA) at the University of Frankfurt am Main and a member of the nomination committee of DPR eV ("accounting police"). From 2005 to June 2017 Dietmar Hexel was deputy chairman of the supervisory board of the steel company Georgsmarienhütte Holding GmbH . He was a member of several supervisory boards (Ingersoll GmbH, Alstom GmbH, RAG Aktiengesellschaft ). He is married and now works as a supervisor and hypno-systemic coach in Emmendingen / Breisgau.
