Dietmar Otto (soccer player)

Dietmar Otto (born December 4, 1955 in Waltrop ) is a former German soccer player .

Otto played for VfB Waltrop in his youth , before moving to the then second division Borussia Dortmund for two years in 1976 , where he remained without a league game and was only called up once in the DFB Cup . He then returned to VfB Waltrop before moving to Rot-Weiss Essen in the 2nd Bundesliga in 1982 . Here he made his professional debut on August 7, 1982, when he was substituted on for Herbert Demange after 60 minutes in the away game against FC Augsburg (0-0) . After a season with nine league appearances, none of which over the entire game, he returned again to VfB Waltrop.

After his active career he trained among others Eintracht Herten and then twice with SC Herten, which emerged from the merger with Sportfreunde Herten. On April 5, 2009 Otto resigned after a 3-1 defeat of his team with immediate effect from his coaching activities at SC Herten. This was preceded by the decision of the board in the previous week not to tie the coach to the club beyond the current season.
