It was not until 1981 that today's community center on Roderbruchmarkt was inaugurated .
Building description
Designed by the architect Klaus and Gudrun bird designed for worship and community facilities building was constructed in 1980 and 1981 as one of brick -built modern building that "can compete with the relatively overwhelming surrounding development" itself. The church center works under a lead- clad roof structure in which the church bells are hung. In the same place, a simple cross, which protrudes laterally just above the roof, signals the purpose of the building. Otherwise, however, externally visible sacred architecture was largely dispensed with and the actual church interior was integrated into the community center.
The church and community rooms as well as the caretaker's house of the masonry building with its partial lead cladding encompass a hall that extends over two floors and serves as a link between the Roderbruchmarkt, which acts as a marketplace, and the outside area on Nobelring.
