Dietrich Hoth

Dietrich Hoth (born July 29, 1927 in Turow, Glewitz municipality , † February 24, 2012 in Hamburg ) was a Hamburg CDU politician .

Life

Hoth moved from the GDR to West Berlin in 1950 after being temporarily arrested for advocating German unity. After studying political science from 1953 to 1958, Hoth was employed by what was then the BfA in Berlin. In 1973 he moved to Hamburg. Before starting parliamentary work, he was state chairman of the Association of Expellees Germans in Hamburg from 1989 to 2002 and a member of the board of the associations of Hamburg foundations for rehabilitation and integration.

On March 23, 2000, he received the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon . Hoth died on February 24, 2012 in Hamburg.

Hoth was a member of the CDU. Since 1985 he was regional chairman of the East and Central German Association of the CDU in Hamburg. From 1987 he was also a member of the federal executive committee of the East and Central German Association, at times also as deputy federal chairman. From 1985 until he joined the citizenship he was also a deputy of the social welfare authority and a member of the integration advisory board of the authority for social affairs and families.

From January 4, 2005, when he succeeded Henning Tants , to March 12, 2008, Hoth was a member of the Hamburg parliament during the 18th electoral term . There he was a member of the submissions committee, budget committee, social committee and the committee for the public service and human resources management for his group .
