Dietrich Kurz

Dietrich Kurz (born October 13, 1942 in Breslau ) is a German sports educator . Through his work on the multi-perspectives of sport, he has an important influence on the development of physical education in Germany.

life and work

After fleeing from Silesia , he grew up in Hanover , where he graduated from the Ratsgymnasium in 1962. From 1962 to 1968 he studied Greek, Latin and physical exercise at the Universities of Tübingen , Athens and Hamburg . He passed the 1st state examination in Tübingen, where he was awarded a Dr. phil. received his doctorate. 1969 to 1970 he was a research assistant at the Philological Department of the University of Tübingen, 1970 to 1977 research assistant at the Institute for Sports Science at the University of Tübingen; In 1977 he completed his habilitation in sports science at the University of Tübingen. From 1978 to 2009 he was Professor of Sports Science (Sports and Education Department) at Bielefeld University .
