Dietrich Reimer (born May 13, 1818 in Berlin ; † October 15, 1899 there ) was a German publisher.

Dietrich Arnold Reimer was a son of Georg Andreas Reimer and a brother of Georg Ernst Reimer . In 1845 he founded a book and map shop in Berlin. Two years later he took over most of the geographical works and the art publishing house from his father and founded Dietrich Reimer Verlag . In the same year he married Henriette Hirzel, the sister of the publisher Salomon Hirzel . The marriage had three children. In 1851 Dietrich Reimer also took over the geographical and topographical institute from A. von Meyer in Berlin.

In 1852 he was able to win the capable cartographer Heinrich Kiepert for his publishing house. After the death of his wife Henriette in 1853, Reimer married Emma Jonas in 1855, a daughter of the Berlin pastor Ludwig Jonas .

In 1868 Reimer made the bookseller Hermann August Hoefer (* 1835) a partner in his company. Both now went with great commitment to the improvement of the existing map series, to new, large scientific ventures in the field of geography and geography and the production of earth and celestial globes, which also gave the publisher a high reputation internationally.

On October 1, 1891, Dietrich Reimer had to give up the management of the publishing house for health reasons. Eight years later he died at the age of 81.
