Dietrich Tolke

Dietrich Tolke († 1405 ) was Bishop of Reval .

Probably from a vassal family of the Diocese of Reval, Tolke was originally a diocesan priest .

Episcopate

At the beginning of 1403 he was elected bishop by the cathedral chapter of Reval and then traveled to Rome , having secured the support of Grand Master Konrad von Jungingen at the Marienburg . Here Pope Boniface IX provided him . on July 2, 1403 with the diocese of Reval and allowed him to enter the Teutonic Order , without whose protection he would not have been able to successfully lead his diocese.

On October 14, 1403, he was accepted into the order at Marienburg and consecrated bishop. He then traveled back to his diocese via Königsberg and Memel .
