Dietrich von Hein

Dietrich von Hein (born July 27, 1925 in Heydekrug ; † December 25, 2007 in Hanover ) was a German veterinarian and as a medical officer veterinarian in the Bundeswehr, last from 1978 to 1985 the second stage manager veterinary medicine of the Bundeswehr in the rank of senior veterinarian .

Life

After completing school education and the Reich Labor Service , von Hein took part as a soldier in the Second World War, was wounded and was taken prisoner of war . After the war he studied from 1947 to 1952 at the University of Veterinary Medicine in Hanover . This was followed by activities as a university assistant and as an official veterinarian before he joined the Bundeswehr in 1959. There he was first a department head in the medical and health services department of the former military area command  V in Stuttgart and then with the military area command II in Hanover. In Hanover he headed the establishment of the veterinary field laboratory from 1963 and headed the veterinary examination center II from 1967. This was followed by the recognition as a specialist veterinarian for food hygiene and in 1978 he was transferred to the post of stage manager veterinary medicine. After seven years as the highest veterinarian in the Bundeswehr, von Hein was retired in 1985.

He was involved in the Lions Club , was an active member of the congress of the German Society for Military Medicine and Military Pharmacy until his death and, after retiring , studied Ancient and Modern History at the University of Hanover .
