Dimitrie Ghica , also called Beizadea Mitică , (born May 31, 1816 , † February 15, 1897 in Bucharest ) was a Romanian politician and Prime Minister of the country.

Life

The son of Prince Grigore IV. Ghica initially received military training. After that he was active in politics. Dimitrie Ghica married Charlotte Duprond. With her he had the daughters Maria and Iza. In his many years of political activity, he was, among other things, foreign , interior and justice ministers and the state's labor minister. The conservative politician was also chairman of the Senate and the Assembly of Representatives and from November 16, 1868 to January 27, 1870 Prime Minister of Romania. He died in Bucharest at the age of 81.
