The Dimitrova Peak (English; Bulgarian връх Димитрова wrach Dimitrova ) is a 1500 m high and mostly icy mountain in the Havre Mountains in the north of the Alexander I Island west of the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises 5.7 km east of Mount Pontida , 7.62 km south-southeast of Mount Newman and 21 km northeast of Mount Holt . Its steep south-west slopes are partly not icy. The Russian Gap is northeast of it and the Foreman Glacier is south of it.
British scientists mapped it in 1971. The Bulgarian geologists Christo Pimperew and Borislaw Kamenow visited it on January 8, 1988 together with Philip Nell and Peter Marquis from the British Antarctic Survey . The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named him in 2017 after the Bulgarian opera singer Gena Dimitrova (1941–2005).
