Dinonylnaphthylsulfonic acid is a mixture of several synthetically produced, isomeric chemical compounds . All of them are aromatic sulfonic acids . The mixture is an antistatic and is used as an additive in lubricants and kerosene ( Jet A-1 ).
presentation
Dinonylnaphthylsulfonic acid is produced from naphthalene , which is first alkylated with nonene to dinonylnaphthalene and then sulfonated to the end product .
use
Like the two alkaline earth metal salts barium and calcium dinonylnaphthylsulphonate, dinonylnaphthylsulphonic acid is used in a variety of ways as an additive in lubricants (such as lubricants or cooling lubricants ), industrial paints and rust inhibitors . Typically, proportions of 0.5 to 3 percent by weight are added. The aircraft kerosene Jet A-1 contains it as a conductivity improver (antistatic) in quantities of 1–3 mg / l.
