Dionis Vodnev (born March 12, 1971 ) is a former Kazakh - German ski jumper and today's ski jumping trainer.

Career

Vodnev made his debut in the Ski Jumping World Cup at the opening competition for the Four Hills Tournament in 1987/88 in Oberstdorf . However, the first few years were unsuccessful. It was not until January 14, 1990 that he managed to win his first World Cup point with 15th place in Liberec .

At the 1992 Winter Olympics , Vodnev was part of the United Team . He achieved 25th place on the normal hill and 24th on the large hill. In the team competition, he finished eleventh with the team. Shortly after the games, at the end of the 1991/92 season, he made it onto the podium with second place in the Planica team competition . In the Ski Jumping World Cup 1992/93 Vodnev started again for his home country Kazakhstan , before he moved to Germany shortly after the season and started for Germany from 1993. The 1992/93 season was the most successful of his career. He achieved 34th place in the overall World Cup ranking with 15 points. Previously, he had already finished the Four Hills Tournament 1992/93 in 18th place in the overall tournament ranking. In the following years he was still able to regularly win World Cup points, but there were no great successes. In 1997 Vodnev ended his active ski jumping career.

After the end of his career, Vodnev became involved as a ski jumping coach in Kazakhstan. He trains Konstantin Sokolenko among others .
