Dirck Trip (* 1691 in Amsterdam ; † 1748 ibid), von Groet's army , was regent of Amsterdam .
biography
His parents were the mayor of Amsterdam Lucas Trip and Elisabeth Calkoen . The descendant of the Trip family received his doctorate in 1711 from the University of Leiden . A year later he married Christina Eijgels and lived with her in the Huis Bartolotti on Herengracht . In the following year, Dirck Trip, now a widower, remarried with Agatha Levina Geelvinck . He entered the city government in 1726 as Schepen . Trip was mayor in 1735, 1742 and 1748 . In 1741 he became a colonel in the Amsterdam Civil Guard . In 1743 Trip became the richest inhabitant of the city with an annual income of 50,000 guilders . Through the intercession of his father-in-law Lieve Geelvinck , he sat between 1743 and 1747 as councilor in the Admiralty of Amsterdam . In addition, from 1630, Trip had owned the Herrlichkeit Groet and the Waterland estate near Velsen .
