Directorate
Direction (from Latin directio "direction") stands for:
- an instruction from the employer to the employee by virtue of the right of management ,
- the management of a company (see under manager )
- the director of a school (see under school management )
- in Germany a certain authority (mostly medium authority and often federal authority ), e.g. B. Verification Directorate , Oberfinanzdirektion , Police Directorate , the German Federal Police Directorate , etc. (exemplified disbanded authorities or outdated designations: Oberpostdirektion , Reichsbahndirektion , Bundesbahndirektion , Grenzschutzdirektion )
- a department in the EU Commission (European Union)
- in Austria also an authority or an office, e.g. B. the General Directorate for Public Security , a state police directorate or its predecessor ( security directorates , federal police directorates )
- the ministries in many cantons of Switzerland ; see the respective canton articles
- in astrology a method for the event time calculation in the horoscope , see direction (astrology)
- In music, in works for ensembles without a conductor, the musical part of the leading instrument (mostly violin or piano ), in which the most important musical processes are indicated by cue notes
