Dirk Beutner

Dirk Beutner (* 1976 in Wernigerode ) is a German doctor. As a university professor, he is the head of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at the University Medical Center Göttingen .

Beutner passed the Abitur at the Gerhart-Hauptmann-Gymnasium in Wernigerode and completed his basic military service in 1994. From 1995 he studied human medicine and from 1997 sports science at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen . In 2002 he received his doctorate there for Dr. med. with the dissertation Electrophysiological characterization of the presynaptic function of cochlear inner hair cells of the mouse .

From 2002 to 2004, Beutner was an intern, and later a research assistant at the ENT University Clinic in Dresden . He then moved to the ENT University Clinic in Cologne, where he qualified as a professor in 2008 for the subject of ear, nose and throat medicine at the Medical Faculty of the University of Cologne, where he has also been a private lecturer since then . From 2009 to 2017 he was the senior physician in charge and senior staff physician at the University Clinic in Cologne.

In 2005 he became chairman of the assistant representation of the German Society for ENT Medicine .

Since September 1, 2017, Dirk Beutner has been Head of the Clinic for Ear, Nose and Throat Medicine at the University Medical Center Göttingen. On January 19, 2018 there was his inaugural presentation with the title "Perspectives in ear, nose and throat medicine".

Dirk Beutner has a very broad clinical-operative spectrum and is also active internationally in current medical research and is represented, for example, with 87 papers in the US National Library of Medicine ( MEDLINE ).
