Dirk Brüel

Dirk van Cappellen Brüel (born December 29, 1942 in Copenhagen ) is a Danish cameraman .

Life

Dirk Brüel is the son of the painter Michael Brüel. He studied from 1967 to 1969 at the renowned Den Danske Filmskole . During his studies he made his debut with that of Tom O'Horgan staged Boxiganga as a cameraman for a feature film. After completing his studies, he found regular work and was finally able to establish himself as a cameraman for feature films after making a few short films and documentaries. During his almost five decades as a cameraman, he was responsible for over 90 national and international film and television productions, where he was nominated and awarded several times for renowned film prizes. His work on the two films Magnetisøren's femte vinter and Springflut received a Robert for Best Cinematography .

His son is the cameraman Nicolaj Brüel .
