The eleven year old Sarah has the big dream of being able to perform as a clown in a circus. With two of her friends, Morten and Maria, she wants to turn this dream into reality and is practicing on an abandoned property that was once used by the local fire department. In the building on top there is still a creepy and eccentric woman named Mirabella, who, however, proves to be friendly to the children and supports their plans to set up their own circus on their property. New adversity developed when it became known that local real estate speculators were trying to seize the property and build a modern office and commercial building. Fortunately, the resident Mirabella has a letter from the king that gives her the right to the property. However, the real estate speculators who find out about it aren't giving up anytime soon. They try to steal and steal the writing from Mirabella and the children. The local building authority, which is being hounded on the circus people, also wants to have the desolate building removed. The children, who have now established their circus on the premises, pull out all the stops together with Mirabella to outsmart their opponents. Together they manage to resolve all difficulties and problems in order to save and ultimately maintain their circus.
