It flows over its entire route in a predominantly southern direction. The Interstate 87 ( Adirondack Northway ) runs along the river. At Schroon Lake the Schroon River flows into the lake of the same name. At Pottersville at the southern end of the lake he leaves it again. The Schroon River runs about 6 km west of Lake George . It finally flows through the small town of Warrensburg and shortly thereafter flows southwest of the city on the left into the upper reaches of the Hudson River. The river length of the Schroon River is 109 km. The catchment area covers around 1500 km².
