Dirk Herbert Hübner (born August 27, 1976 in Trier ) is a German mechanical engineer and university lecturer.

Life

After graduating from high school at the State Max Planck High School in Trier and completing basic military service, Dirk Hübner received training as an aircraft mechanic from 1997 to 2000 at the Tactical Air Force Squadron 33 . From 2000 to 2004 he studied mechanical engineering at the Trier University of Applied Sciences . After completing his studies, he became a research assistant for Harald Ortwig in the fluid technology department . At the same time, he completed a pedagogical training course for teaching at vocational schools in Rhineland-Palatinate from 2008 to 2010. From 2008 to 2012 he taught at the vocational school in Cochem with a focus on the aircraft mechanic apprenticeship. In 2009 he became a member of the Corps Marchia Brünn zu Trier . In 2011, Hübner became a Dr.-Ing. At the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology in Rostock with Christoph Woernle in the first independently supervised cooperative doctoral project in the Department of Technology / Mechanical Engineering at Trier University of Applied Sciences under Harald Ortwig . PhD. On September 1, 2012, he was appointed professor for construction technology and lightweight construction at the Saarland University of Technology and Economics .

Hübner's scientific work includes the construction of test stands , the development of mechanical and mechatronic components as well as the modeling and simulation of dynamic systems. The focus of his teaching is in the field of construction technology (focus on fluid technology / measurement and control technology) and lightweight construction.
