Dirk Herber

Dirk Herber (born September 24, 1979 in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse ) is a German police officer and politician ( CDU ). He has been a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament since May 2016 .

Life

education and profession

Herber was born the son of a police officer and a nurse and grew up in the Neustadt district of Mußbach . After graduating from high school in 1999 at the Kurfürst-Ruprecht-Gymnasium Neustadt , he joined the Rhineland-Palatinate police force and began studying at the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration (Police Department, Hahn Airport), which he completed in 2003 with the examination for a degree in administrative management (FH) graduated. He then worked in active police service. From 2003 to 2004 he was employed by the riot police in Schifferstadt , from 2004 to 2007 in the individual police service at the Speyer Police Department and from 2007 to 2016 in the service dog unit at the Rheinpfalz police headquarters .

politics

Herber joined the CDU in 2008. From 2009 to 2014 he was a member of the local advisory board in Mußbach and has been the mayor there since 2014. In 2014 he was also elected to the city council of Neustadt an der Weinstrasse. He ran for the state elections on March 13, 2016 in constituency 42 (Neustadt an der Weinstrasse) and was directly elected to the state parliament. In Parliament he is a member of the Committee on Society, Integration and Consumer Protection and the Committee on Social Affairs and Labor. Within the parliamentary group he is the representative for sport and youth.

Private

Dirk Herber is married and has three children.
