Dirk Ifenthaler

Dirk Ifenthaler (* 1974 in Müllheim (Baden) ) is a German educational scientist and has held the Chair of Business Education V, Technology-Based Instruction Design at the University of Mannheim since 2015 .

Career

Dirk Ifenthaler completed a degree in educational science, sociology and English philology at the University of Freiburg from 1997 to 2002 . Until 2010 he taught and researched there at the chair for learning research and instructional design and received his doctorate in 2006 under Norbert M. Seel on the subject of diagnosis of learning-dependent changes in mental models . From 2010 to 2012 he represented the chair for educational science at the University of Mannheim . In 2011 Ifenthaler completed his habilitation at the University of Freiburg. The following year he conducted research as a Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence in the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Oklahoma , before heading a research group at Open Universities Australia in 2013 . He then was Professor and Director of the Center for Research in Digital Learning at Deakin University until 2014 . In 2014 he accepted the professorship for applied teaching and learning research at the University of Potsdam . Since February 2015, he has been strengthening the business education area of ​​the Faculty of Business Administration at the University of Mannheim and holds the chair for business education V, in particular technology-based instruction design .
