Dirk Mehlberg (born January 10, 1985 in Rostock ) is a German volleyball player .

Career

Mehlberg played beach volleyball as a child on Prerower Strand and was also promoted in high jump . In 1998 he decided to pursue a career in volleyball and went to boarding school at Schweriner SC . In 2001 he continued his athletic training at VC Olympia Berlin . He took part in the 2003 World Cup with the German national junior team and won bronze at the European Championship a year later. He also gained his first experience in the Bundesliga. In 2006 the external attack switched to the newly founded VC Leipzig . In 2008 he came to the newly promoted Bundesliga TV Rottenburg , where the student played in the European Cup in 2010. He also coached the club's women's team. After finishing his professional career in 2018, Mehlberg played for the upper division ASV Botnang .
