Dirk Sauermann (born March 28, 1975 in Kiel ) is a German volleyball trainer and physiotherapist .

Career

From 2003 to 2010 Dirk Sauermann coached the first women's team at TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the volleyball Bundesliga , initially as assistant coach to Gudula Staub and Alberto Salomoni and since the 2007/08 season as head coach. Sauermann's greatest successes with the team were the German runner-up in 2004 , the title of German runner-up in 2005 and reaching the finals in the European Top Teams Cup in 2005. Following his work in Leverkusen, the Kiel native reached third with HPK Naiset and once in second place in the Finnish first division. In the 2012/13 season Sauermann coached the second division team of MTV Stuttgart, which finished ninth at the end of the season. He then moved to the Second Bundesliga North to VT Aurubis Hamburg II . In February 2014, he replaced Helmut von Soosten as head coach of the Bundesliga team at Aurubis Hamburg, where he worked until 2016.
