DVV Cup 2004/05

The 2004/05 season in the DVV Cup began with the round of 16 on 27/28. November and ended with the finals on February 13th in the Hardtberghalle in Bonn . The 2005 cup winners were VfB Friedrichshafen and USC Münster .

Season course

In the men's round of 16, all lower-class teams were eliminated; the defending champion Friedrichshafen benefited from a bye . In the next round, the leading teams in the Bundesliga prevailed with clear victories; the SCC Berlin was successful in the city derby against the volley dogs. Then the Charlottenburg team defeated Moers and Friedrichshafen won against Düren. The two best teams of the Bundesliga season were in the final. After a changeable game, VfB won the trophy again with a 16:14 tie-break .

In the women's round of 16, the lower-class teams failed to win a set and Berlin BVC received a bye. In the quarterfinals, the club, which withdrew due to bankruptcy at the end of the season, had no chance. Dresden won the top game of the Bundesliga in Suhl and was only defeated by Münster in the semifinals in the fifth set. The USC then decided the final against Leverkusen in just three sets and thus defended its title.
